Privacy Policy

What RV Monitor Data collects, what it does not, and what you can do about it. This site has no accounts, no logins and no newsletter, which keeps this short.

1. What we collect

Data Why How long
Server access logs — IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps Security, abuse prevention and diagnosing errors. Created automatically by the web server Short-term, per our host’s retention
Aggregate analytics — pages viewed, approximate region, device class, referring site To see which pages are useful and which are not Per the analytics provider’s retention settings
Your email and its contents, if you write to us To reply to you Kept while the correspondence is relevant, then deleted

2. What we do not collect

  • No accounts. There is nothing to register for, so there are no usernames or passwords.
  • No newsletter and no mailing list. Writing to us does not subscribe you to anything, because there is nothing to be subscribed to.
  • No payment information. We sell nothing. Purchases happen entirely on the retailer’s site.
  • No location data beyond the approximate region implied by an IP address.
  • No sale of personal information, under any definition, to anyone, ever.

3. Cookies

This site sets cookies for two purposes only: analytics, and the affiliate attribution described below. There are no advertising cookies, because there is no advertising.

Analytics cookies can be declined without breaking anything on the site — every page is static content and works identically without them. Your browser’s settings control cookies for this site as for any other, and blocking them entirely will not stop you reading anything here.

4. Affiliate links and third parties

Following an affiliate link takes you to a retailer, and at that point that retailer’s privacy policy applies rather than ours. Retailers typically set a cookie recording that you arrived from this site, so a purchase can be attributed. That mechanism is how the site is funded and is described on the affiliate disclosure.

We do not receive your name, address, payment details or the contents of your basket. What we see is an aggregate count of qualifying purchases, with no personal information attached to it.

Third parties that process data on our behalf are our hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs, and our analytics provider. Each handles the data described in section 1 and nothing else.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, or to receive a copy. Since this site holds no accounts, in practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us.

To exercise these rights, write to editorial@rvmonitordata.com or use the contact page. We will respond within the period the applicable law requires, and we will not charge you for it.

6. Children

This site is intended for adults making purchasing decisions and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the last-updated date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described on the page rather than made silently.

Common questions

Does RV Monitor Data use cookies?

Only for analytics and affiliate attribution. There are no advertising cookies, and declining analytics cookies does not affect anything you can read here.

Will you email me if I contact you?

Only to reply to your message. There is no mailing list and you will not receive anything else.

Do you share data with manufacturers?

No. We have no relationship with any manufacturer and nothing to share with one.

How do I opt out of analytics?

Block cookies for this site in your browser, or use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts. The site works exactly the same either way.
